So, what’s next? Finishing the raised beds, revamping the sprinkler system, starting more transplants, painting shed, and organizing crop teams. Getting the sprinklers up and going is becoming more critical as we continue to go without precipitation. BTW, the water faucet on the fence is connected so you can get water for first plantings from that. I will put out the watering cans and buckets today.
I will be at the garden this afternoon if any of you want to come by and lend a hand. I will also plan to be there on Thursday afternoon into early evening. Those who could not participate on Saturday or MG volunteers who want to get more hours in are most welcome. What the heck – you’re all welcome to come join in!
We are still in need of a team leader for one of the crop areas. Anyone willing to take this on?
More photos from the Saturday Spring Work Day are posted on the FB page – St. Andrew Community Garden. Check it out, Like us, and add your postings. Several of you wanted the recipe for the rhubarb cake we had at the last meeting, so I will post it there. I see the rhubarb is up and it will not be long before it is ready for a first picking. You might consider starting a rhubarb plant in you plots this year!
See you at the Garden,
